| St. Elizabeth's Health Ministry This new ministry is committed to bringing the healing
presence of Christ to our community and to promote all aspects of good health at St.
Elizabeth's. Coordinated by a certified parish nurse, working with a core group of
registered nurses, this ministry provides blood pressure screenings after Masses once a
month and sponsors health education workshops throughout the year. While this ministry
does not provide hands on nursing care, it does serve as an outreach to the sick,
homebound and the elderly by helping them to access existing health care services in the
community. V -107 Home Visitors are trained volunteers from the parish
willing to make visits to the sick, infirm and the elderly in our parish. Home visitors
are not health care professionals; just kind, compassionate people willing to make an
ongoing connection with a person in our community. The time commitment varies. Training is
provided.
V -108 Drivers To Assist the Elderly People who no longer drive need transportation to and from
doctor appointments, the supermarket and/or Mass on Sundays. Volunteers should have
a car, a valid NJ driver's license, and daytime availability.
V -109 Meal Preparation Health Ministry volunteers occasionally prepare meals for
someone just out of the hospital, recently bereaved or ill.
